Location and History
Eynesbury was established at Kingswood in 1990 and took its name from Eynesbury House, our home for the first six years. Eynesbury House is a location that many people still connect with Eynesbury. By 1995 the school had outgrown the Kingswood Campus, and in January 1996 a second and larger campus was opened in Franklin Street in the heart of the city. Eynesbury remained a two-campus school until the end of 2001 when teaching was consolidated at an expanded and upgraded Franklin Street campus.
Eynesbury today is a modern multi-purpose education facility only 50 metres from the GPO on Victoria Square.
Today our central location means the school is easily accessible by public transport form all over metropolitan Adelaide.
many faces... different pathways... one goal!!
This describes perfectly our student population in any given year. Our students all come to us with the goal of university entry into their chosen course. The pathways taken to get to the goal can be very different some taking a 'standard' route through Years 10, 11 and 12, some accelerating in particular subjects and some splitting Year 12 over more than one year to give some examples. For some 'real life' pathways taken by previous Eynesbury Senior College scholars see the Pathways page.
The Crest
The Eynesbury crest was designed to signify many distinguishing qualities about the school. For instance, it takes the shape of a shield which is because we believe that what the school teaches its students should shield/protect them through their life. The open book symbolises the learning environment and the state of the student, open to new concepts/ideas and ready to learn. The rays behind the book are to emphasise the hope and success for our students for the future and their lives.
