The Eynesbury Difference
Eynesbury Senior College is a school unlike any other in Adelaide. A specialist senior secondary college, we cater only for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 with a pre-university focus. Some of the ways in which we differ from other schools are:
- All teachers are subject specialists.
- Extensive one-on-one support provided for students outside the classroom.
- Flexible timetables designed to preprare for university lifestyle e.g., students are only expected on campus when they have a lesson.
- A longer school day with the last lesson finishing at 5:10pm.
- No emphasis on sports and extra-curricular activities.
- Each year all Year 10 students are new and about 50% of Year 11 and Year 12 students are new to the school.
- Students and teachers operate in an informal atmosphere - like that of a univeristy e.g., first name basis.
- There are no bells, uniforms, prefects or school houses.
You don't need to be a straight-A student to come to Eynesbury Senior College. We often say we are not academically selective-but we are 'atitudinally' selective! At enrolment interview the importance of being committed to a successful outcome is underlined, this is the one selective we always rely on. If the student is committed and focused we will support them in achieving their goal.
The tone and demeanour engendered at Eynesbury is one which fosters personal as well as academic growth - students learn to accept responsibility and to work closely with their peers, and gain in confidence as they prepare to tackle the world beyond the classroom.
