Our Teachers
Ultimately a school is judged by the quality of its teaching. Eynesbury has been particularly fortunate in attracting outstanding teachers who want to work with motivated students in the environment of a specialist senior secondary college. All our teachers are specialists in their subjects and many have extensive examination and moderation experience with the SACE Board.
Perhaps the most important single feature of Eynesbury is the opportunity students have to work with teachers outside formal class times. For every four hours of each subject's scheduled lesson time teachers spend in the classroom, they are available for an additional 90 minutes for on-on-one contact. We can do this in the absence of the extra-curricular activities, extensive sporting programs, festivals and other activities that feature in more traditional school settings.
Our Students
The wide appeal of Eynesbury's senior secondary college model accounts for the diverse backgrounds of our students - and again aims to emulate the university experience towards which our students are inevitably heading.
- Our students are drawn from State, Catholic and other Independent Schools in almost equal numbers.
- Our students come from all over the metropolitan area and from as far afield as the Barossa Valley, Murray Bridge, the Adelaide Hills and the Southern Vales.
- Our gender split is roughly 50% boys, 50% girls but in some years there is a slight skew towards girls.
- Our Australian students work alongside overseas students (ratio Local to International approximately 75% local vs 25% International) who are enrolled in our affiliated international college.
Class Sizes
The average class size is about 18, not including small enrolment classes (e.g., Languages). It is our policy to hold class sizes to about 20 or less whenever possible; in some high demand subjects the number may be about 23 but many other classes have fewer than 20 students.
